The following special guests appeared at G-FEST XVI.

Guest of Honor: Kenji Sahara
One of the most prolific of all of Toho’s science fiction actors, Kenji Sahara, will be our guest of honor at G-FEST XVI. Mr. Sahara has appeared in more Godzilla films than any other actor (thirteen to date), including King Kong vs. Godzilla, Mothra vs. Godzilla, and Destroy All Monsters. His most recent Godzilla appearance was in Godzilla: Final Wars in 2004. He has also acted in numerous other Toho science fiction features such as The Mysterians, The H-Man, Matango, and Gorath. Kenji Sahara has been in many Ultra-related projects as well, including Ultra Q, Ultra Seven, Ultraman Nexus, and Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers, released in 2008.

Special Guest: Robert Scott Field
The star of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Scott has become an integral part of G-FEST since he first attended in 1999. Each year, G-FEST attendees look forward to renewing their friendship with Scott, and hearing about the latest happenings in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Special Presenter: August Ragone
Returning for G-FEST XVI was August Ragone, one of the most authoritative historians of Japanese science-fiction and fantasy films. He participated in several panels and presentations at G-FEST. August is also the author of the book “Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters” chronicling the life and career of the special effects master.

Special Presenter: David Kalat
David Kalat is a scholar of Japanese fantasy cinema, and is the author of the books “A Critical History and Filmography of Toho’s Godzilla Series,” and “J-Horror.” He also contributed the audio commentary on the recent DVD release of Ghidrah the Three-Headed Monster. David is the founder and president of All Day Entertainment, an independent DVD label created with the express mission of rescuing lost movies.

Special Guest: J.D. Lees
